Dori Auslander
1951 - 2007

My youngest child Dori has gone away
Into a better place most people would say.
But did most people know her the way that I did?
I sincerely doubt it, she was a wonderful kid.
Her heart was as big as anyone in this room
It was generous and loving and she left us too soon.

I sometimes write a poem for special events
Like Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs or for any excuse I invent.
But I couldn’t let Dori leave us without her getting this poem

I loved her, miss her, now she is traveling home.
